National Aperitif Day & The Kamm Shed

You knew it was National Aperitif Day, right?! Course you did.

In case you were unclear, an Aperitif is a bitter alcoholic libation taken before food in order to stimulate your palate and prepare the stomach. Civilised.

We will be raising a glass to this occasion with The British Aperitif mixed simply with Fever-Tree bitter lemon to make a deliciously dry and moreish pre-dinner drink, ‘Kamms Bitter Lemon’.

It is not just us that is preaching the gospel of the Aperitif - here is a clip from last weekend’s Sunday Brunch which features one of our signature cocktails:
The Brits Spritz https://kammandsons.com/kamm_press/sunday-brunch/

But even more exciting than National Aperitif Day or being featured on national telly (I know this is a tall order) is the launch of our cocktail bar in a shed - ‘The Kamm-Shed’ which will be residing at #StreetFeast in #DalstonYard from this very evening!

StreetFeast

StreetFeast is back in their spiritual home of Dalston Yard. Tonight is the first night and doors are open from 5pm to midnight (Sat: 5pm -midnight). £3 entry after 7pm.

We have teamed up with our friends at StreetFeast to bring you the Kamm-Shed for almost the ENTIRE SUMMER! 20 whole weekends of Aperitifs, excellent street food, cocktails and great vibes.

If you haven’t been down yet you are in for a treat. If you have, this year is going to be bigger and better with new traders and a 30-cover Steak House. https://www.streetfeastlondon.com

Twitter Competition

The Kamm-Shed is hidden away and is Dalston Yard’s best kept secret. For your chance to win a bottle, Tweet/Instagram your photo of the Kamm-Shed telling us you have found it and include the following tags in the post: @KammandSons @StreetFeastLDN #KammShed. The only clue: Follow the yellow brick road.

We look look forward to seeing you at the Kamm-Shed for an Aperitif.

Cheers!

Hawker House - StreetFeast

StreetFeast went indoors for winter and we tagged along for the ride. B could be spotted propping up the Whisky Bar and sampling the culinary delights of the finest street food traders in town over the 6 week run. Those of you with eagle eyes would have spotted our engraved copper kettles bubbling away with our #HotKammberry

Platterform

The guys over at Platterform enlisted our help with keeping their revellers warm on the roof of the HotHouse in London Fields for SkyLodge 2013. We supplied them with our Copper Kettles and the receipe for our #HotKammberry which they renamed the Woody Woodpecker for their event.

Night Tales LDN

Hands up who likes Negronis? Night Tales LDN love them so much that they had a dedicated Negroni station with not one but TWO Kamm & Sons negroni’s on it…Delicious. NightTales ran for six weeks over November and December 2013, in a carpark in Dalston.

Taste of Christmas

We found ourselves back at Tobacco Dock in November for another Taste event. We were located right across from Hix so we were the ideal pit stop before venturing over to Hix. Kamms Bitter Lemon coming right up, Sir!

BBC Good Food - London

It would have been rude not to attend the London BBC Good Food show back in November 2013. We trundled our BarCycle into the Olympia and set up shop for 3 days serving up Kamms Bitter Lemon and a cheeky Sunshine Mary…or three!

Best of Britannia

On the 3rd of October 2013, we rolled into the Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell to sell Cocktails in the beautiful courtyard of this landmark building. Sunshine Mary’s were in big demand as, in true British style, the weather was dreary and everyone needed some sunshine in their lives.

British & European Street Food Awards 2013

The British Street Food Awards were founded back in 2009 included Europe this year. The festival of vans, trucks and trailers showcased the very best of street food from across the entire continent. Traders travelled from Stockholm, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Berlin to compete, but the winners were Katie and Kim from Bristol, who baked out of a converted horse box to be voted Best of the Best.

Kamm & Sons were invited down to takeover the GinStore (originally running for 12 weeks in the summer as part of StreetFeast). We brought our BarCycle down and handed out samples as well as having our very own pop up Cocktail Bar. The KammStore existed for the entire weekend of the 28th & 29th September 2013. We loved it and hope you did too!
