Who are Kamm & Sons?
A family history
Maximilian Kammerling
Born in Austria in 1890, Maximilian is the original Kammerling son in this story. Unable to afford to study medicine as a young man, he ended up working and eventually owning his own confectionary factory in Vienna where he produced all manner of sweets and chocolates, one of which was a herbal cough lozenge that was given to his son Walter when he was sick.
Walter Kammerling
At the ripe old age of 92 and having survived the Second World War, Walter has more than a few stories to tell. One of these is how his father used to come home with arms full of chocolates and sweets from his Viennese confectionery factory. The sweet which stands out from his childhood memories however is the one which serendipitously tastes like the drink which his eldest grandson Alex created of his own accord.
Peter Kammerling
Father of Alex, chairman of the board and all-round T crosser, i dotter. A business consultant by trade, with experience in the public sector, manufacturing and law, but now an integral part of the Kamm & Sons family business as Head of Production and Logistics.
Alex Kammerling
The creator of Kamm & Sons. Alex has been working in the drinks industry for over 22 years, having first cut his teeth making cocktails in bars, hotels and restaurants all over the world. In his time as a bartender, Alex has made drinks for royalty, rock stars, and world-class actors, invented hundreds of cocktails and published his own cocktail book. He has also worked on some of the world’s biggest brands such as Grey Goose, Campari and Bombay Sapphire. Follow Alex on Twitter or Instagram: @kammandsons.
